Southeast Michigan Startup Ecosystem Assessment Findings: Town Hall
Startup Genome, Endeavor, and the William Davidson Foundation have collaborated to assess the current entrepreneurial climate for growth and tech-oriented startups in Southeast Michigan.

This in-depth quantitative and qualitative analysis was completed to define an actionable roadmap in close coordination with key community partners.

A selection of findings:
- Southeast Michigan’s founders are incredibly well connected with other local founders, investors, and experts
- Local universities are national research hubs and exhibit best-in-class practices on Tech Transfer and startup incubation
- Industry 4.0-related startups perform best in early-stage and late-stage funding compared to peer ecosystems
- In terms of exits and scaling, founders aim lower in comparison to other national and global regions, limiting the outlook and potential of success. Despite this, Southeast Michigan has produced more $100 million+ exits than its peers in the U.S.

This Town Hall will cover major findings, community reactions, and include a Q&A.
